SUBJ.: Negotiation Update
The negotiating committee of both the Realty Advisory Board and Local
32B-32J, SEIU have met and exchanged proposals for the renewal of the
1994 Apartment Building Agreement.
Formal negotiating sessions were held on April 10th and April 15th. The
parties are scheduled to meet continuously from April 17th through the
expiration of the contract in order to try to reach an amicable agreement.
The proposals which were promulgated by the Union are fifty-two in number
and 27 pages in length. Suggestions cover increases in wages and most
other aspects of the agreement. Our proposals, among others, includes
downward adjustments to the wage and benefit structure for newly hired
and relief employees.
